Mrs. Ngozi Ifeoma ODIAKA, a Professor in the Department of Crop Production, College of Agronomy, Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi,
Nigeria (now Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University), has an extensive experience spanning over 35 years in Crop Production gained after her B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Seed production/Plant breeding in Horticulture from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. She started her carrier as a Research Officer at the National
Horticultural Research Institute Idi-Ishin, Ibadan, Nigeria from where she moved to the University as a lecturer and rose through the ranks to Professorial cadre. She provided academic leadership as Head, Department of Crop Production, Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi (FUAM) and as Dean,
Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Federal University Wukari (FUW) and took part actively in the University's Committee System at all administrative levels. She is Co-Director of Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) Nigeria, Coordinator of SDSN North Central Zone, State Team Leader of the Post-harvest Research Team for Feed the Future USAID project and Secretary Board of Trustees of Association of Deans of Faculty of Agriculture (ADAN) in Nigeria. She was a member of Council of the International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS), Horticultural Society of Nigeria, Assistant General Secretary of Association of Deans of Faculties and Colleges of Agriculture in Nigerian Universities (ADAN) and former Secretary General, Horticultural Society of Nigeria. She has various exposures at the national and international levels on current agronomic problems, issues, interventions and Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) - a global issue that enhances sustainability. Her experience in sustainable development and other development activities enables her to collaborate and successfully work with scientists from various backgrounds. Professor (Mrs.) Ngozi Ifeoma Odiaka is self-motivating and resourceful, with the ability to form strong working relationships with a wide range of people at all levels and especially with a multi-disciplinary team. She is a strong team player with a friendly
disposition and loves teaching/research activities and has graduated several Ph.D, M.Sc, and undergraduate students. She is an external examiner to some Nigerian Universities and assessed several candidates for professorial positions. Professor Mrs Ngozi Ifeoma Odiaka is married to Emmanuel C. Odiaka, a Development Communication Specialist and a Professor of Agricultural Communication. God blessed their family with children and grandchildren.
