Professor Ovuevuraye Dicta OGISI is a Professor of Agricultural Economics and the Dean, Faculty of Agriculture,
Delta State University, Abraka. She holds B. Agric (Ife, Ng), MSc (Ibadan) and Ph.D. She was appointed as the Overseer of Asaba Campus (now defunct) in May 2021 on the nomination of the Vice- Chancellor of DELSU, Prof Andy Egwunyenga. Prof. (Mrs.) Dicta OGISI was the first Ag. Deputy Vice Chancellor, Michael and Cecilia Ibru University (MCIU), Agbarha, Otor, Delta State, Nigeria (2017 to 2018). She has been honoured with several prizes / honours and Awards including Fellow of Farm Management Association of Nigeria (ffaman), First Female Chairman, Committee of Deans and Provost of Postgraduate Schools in Nigerian Universities and sixth Dean of Postgraduate School (First Female Dean of Postgraduate School) Delta State University, Abraka. First Female Director of SIWES, Delta State University, Abraka. The only Female Director of Weekend Degree Programme, Delta State University, Abraka from inception in 1998 to date. She is a researcher, lecturer and consultant with over 35 years experience in Nigeria and Europe. She obtained her Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from the University of Reading, United Kingdom in 1994 as a Commonwealth (British Council) Scholar. Her interest spans Agricultural Development, Macroeconomic policy, Resource Economics, Development Economics, Project Evaluation, Gender Issues and Environmental Impact Assessment. She has coauthored books for tertiary institutions, many chapters in textbooks, many articles in Journals and six technical / Research reports. She has edited four Books, two Conference Proceedings and serves as Editor to several Journals. She delivered the 38th in the series of Inaugural Lectures in Delta State University, Abraka titled “Agricultural Reforms without Food Security: A Paradox” on Thursday 21st August 2014, which was well attended and received. Professor Dicta Ogisi is the current Assistant Secretary of ADAN.
